Painting Honda Cover

Hello, The paint is peeling off the top of my 25hp 1998 Honda. Its the piece on top of the cover that you use to tilt the motor. How do I remove the rest of the paint on this piece and how do I prepare the plastic surface for painting. I have Honda paint and clear coat. thanks, Tom

I would think that any chemical strong enough to remove paint, might damage the plastic.

Sand and spray should do it until next time
