Hello all!

I am going to paint my old 1966 Hydrodyne tonight but I am at a loss on knowledge in this area, can anyone answer some questions below....

I am planning on selling it, so I don't need a great job done, as the people are getting it way to cheap..

1. I sanded it rough, do I need to prime if my color is close to the old color?

2. Spray or brush? Masking would be easier if I could brush, but don't know how that would turn out. Not good I am assuming.

3. What type of spray paint? I see enamles, acrylics, etc.. etc..

4. Would a spray clearcoat be a good idea?

5. Any masking tips? I think thats going to take the longest out of all of it.

Any other info would be great!

Thanks
Brian

PS you can use the dull rounded end of a butter knife to make sure the masking is stuck on the edge.

Thanks for the tips guys! I am real happy with the painting job and now your right, I am not sure if I am going to sell. =)

Its amazing what fresh paint, new carpet and new seats can do for an old boat. Fresh wiring, new speedo cable and tanks.

Thanks for the tips, the butter knife one helped a lot.
