Painting outboard

Hi guys I need help on what paint to buy paint my 1979 Johnson fresh lick of spray paint rattle can, ok below waterline I need zinc primer that correct, do I need to remove all old
paint can this stuff stick over sanded paint and aluminum? Might purchase paint here,
any links for paints here would be great, am thinking of doing lower unit a alternate color, rest of motor above waterline Johnson white. Thx.

little update more sanding and repaired skeg with a bastard file, came out nice lot better. tip of mine was chipped off.

whats the best way to approach this guys, if am gonna 2 tone the outboard, would it be best to just prime, base coat the whole motor white then remask, scuff lower unit lightly to apply a alternative color then finish with a complete clear coat on both colors.. best way to go?.

also need to bondo some tiny dings on the motor .. before prime next after, another degrease and mineral spirit clean with tack cloths

Yup that'll work. Reprotint also makes a self-etching primer which you need on bare aluminum. You can clear coat if you want - I usually don't.
