Perfect.

Our local Tractor Supply carries the Rustoleum Tractor paint and also the Majic hardener (as Scott said).

I read reviews on the Majic paint and it seems the Rustoleum is better.

I bought the Preval sprayer at Home Depot today. The sprayer with the glass bottle was $5.25, the refills were $4.25 each. Since it was only $1 more, I bought 4 sprayers with the bottles instead of 1 sprayer and 3 refills. That way if I have leftover it can be used for future products without having to clean the bottle.

If you’re talking about mixing the paint and hardener, I don’t think you can store it. I believe once the paint is mixed, you have limited time before it starts setting up. I thought the pot life is limited.

I keep trying to post a picture, but when I upload from my computer it says "unknown error".

Any ideas why this is happening? The picture size is small, 640x480. I can upload pictures to other forums.

I read the instructions on picture upload and tried using the attachments icon and also the pictures icon.

The picture icon seems to only allow uploads from a URL and not from my computer.

The attachments icon allows me to pick a picture from my computer, but when I hit upload, I get the "unknown error".

are you hitting the camera icon on the left? if so, that doesnt work.

use the paperclip icon on the right (next to the A and the smiley face)

then attach the pics.

once they are attached, you have the option of inserting as small, medium, large, or full size

Yes, I am using the paperclip icon.

I select the paperclip icon, then select "upload attachments", which opens a folder on my computer. I find the picture, select it, and then hit "open", then the window pops up that says "unknown error".

This last weekend I worked on the outdrive.

First I sanded down all the bare and corroded spots to shiny aluminum. Then sanded the good paint to scuff it up for better adhesion.

This was followed up by a vinegar and water wash, then a blow-dry with air.

The pictures show the outdrive after spraying with zinc chromate primer Green), and also after spraying the Rustoleum acrylic enamel with hardener (black). I also did the prop the same way.

I want to thank everyone on iboats for the advice, tips, suggestions and warnings relating to painting an outdrive (and a lot of other things). By searching and reading past posts and current suggestions on my posting I was able to avoid making a bunch of mistakes. The methods that were described here were not obvious and it would have taken me some trial and error to hopefully figure out what to do, which would have cost me a lot of time and money.

Thanks
Steve
