Re: Palm Beach Boat show? Anyone?
Well, Friday was an absolutely beautiful day.. 75 degrees, nice breeze, only a few little puffy clouds in the sky... Perfect IMHO..

The show was pretty much a carbon copy of last years show, minus a couple of noted vendors... If ya seen one mega yacht or sportfisher, then ya seen em' all, IMHO.. More teak and varnished hardwoods than you can shake a stick at...

I splurged.. I went hog wild $$$$$... HOG WILD I TELL YA!$$$$... I bought two diet cokes... Not including the cost of my free ticket, I Spent a grand total of $6.00, for two small cokes..

Did'nt see much that I had not already seen, but I still have a sweet spot for the Strike 29' open fish, twin 330 diesels, cruise 30 knots, $165,000 boat show special

.. I suspect the sales-weasel is still mopping up my droool...

I also like the looks of the two Everglades open fishers with the semi-pilot house.. Looks like it'd be a comfy and dry ride.. I suspect they are around 28' to 30'?.. If they'd loose them stinky ouboards and drop a big diesel inboard in em' (there's room enuff), then they'd have something!..

I suppose the highlight of the show, for me anyway, was the 71' Trumpy named "Eleanor" which was once owned by Howard Hewes... Beautiful old girl..

Only bad part of the show was attempting to get on the bus to go back to the convention center.. Very poorly done.. Nobody "directing human traffic".. A definate free-for-all there.. 100 people rushing the bus... I got irritated, so I walked thru downtown construction mess back to the convention center..(little better than a mile)... I had been sitting at the convention center snack bar for about five minutes drinking a coke when the side doors flung open... Enter all the folks who got on the bus... I beat the bus by five minutes, ON FOOT! ROTFLMAO!

Fellers, there was also a fair amount of, ummm, tallent at the show too.. wooo woooo woooo..
