Panel mount VHF

I’m looking for a somewhat inexpensive vhf that is panel mount that will fit where a Ray Jeff 5000 will.

Is there anything out there or do I need to cover the hole and put cell phone chargers there? I have a new Uniden radio that is supposed to be panel mount but it’s much smaller. So it’s just a matter of putting it under the dash vs in the dash. But if a shoe fits I’ll buy something kind of thing… sadly and not surprising the ray Jeff 5000 is dead. I wonder how old it actually is.

make an adapter plate and buy the panel mount adapter for the uniden.

Don't know the dimensions of a Ray Jeff 5000 which would help to find one close.

Found the manual on line but even it doesn't state

The panel mount for the Uniden and adapting it is not a bad idea. It is much smaller than the Ray Jeff. I’ll grab a stainless kick panel from the home center like i did for the little boat.

make sure your model uniden fits. my uniden 380 sort of fit (slightly bigger than the plastic panel opening) and I simply took a die grinder to it and then filled the back side with epoxy since I thinned up the plastic a bit.

I forgot what model it is. But I know the box said panel mount compatible. I have it in storage
