Part compatibility/// retired part numbers?

Question about parts compatibility. Ordered a new bearing over for my sx m outdrive. Pn 3854401. The part I got looks identical but is stamped 3852291. I’m sure there is a wide range of compatibility... any way to compare part numbers to make sure?

It probably is a new part number for the same item, but do check in link by entering your serial number and can also enter old part number to see what comes up
