Part # for impeller kit

Looking for the part # for a impeller kit on a 2001 volvo 4.3gl on a sx drive. I am going to replace it this winter, is it like changing one on a outboard? If so, no sweat. Thanks guys.

What is the model number of your engine?<br /><br />Changing the impeller is not like an outboard, the pump is mounted on the front of the engine.<br />There were a couple of different sizes of impellers, and Volvo goes by model number, not year.

It's a 4.3 GL, is there more to the engine model? If so, please lead me down the right path. Thanks.

Your engine model number should be listed on a metal tag that is riveted to the engine. You just have to look around. My tag is attached to the side of the valve cover on my '97 Volvo Penta 3.0.

Finally,<br /><br /> I got to where the boat is being stored! The engine number on the tag was GLPEFS. Now all I need is a impeller kit number.<br /><br />I am also looking for the ngk spark plug number, the book gives a volvo number of 3854399. <br /><br />Thanks guys!

For future reference, you have a 4.3GL model EF.<br />The VP impeller kit number is 3862567.<br />The spark plugs for your engine are either AC MR43LTS, or the NGK BPR6EFS.
