I have a 1999 225 OX66 twin engine boat. My starboard tach gage is not totally fubar, but a half inch section of the lower right corner of the display is black (not the one pictured). The only tachometer I can find, either on the Yamaha web site or even Ebay does not match my existing tachs. Is the gage on the right a direct replacement for my old gage pictured on the left? Are there any other inputs needed to make the running hour function work? I was hoping to avoid going to the new gage as it will not match the other engine and it seems expensive to buy 2 just so they "match."

the gauge on left is the old style and any you find will be old and used....doubt any new on shelves unless you're in middle of Africa or somewhere.....the gauge you need is the "middle" age up till 2005(2005 changed) with an adapter harness or two....go to dealer and ask about it...you don't have to buy it from them, just get info from parts guy.

Maybe on my next trip to Djibouti I'll try and pick one up. My local dealer has been pretty good with the info. I'll try him out on this.
