Re: Part Number Help Please.

Hi Fun Times
I believe that's the OEM part number for a 120 deg. I'd like a 140 deg. Any other ideas?

Thanks

Randall;

Pretty sure Fun Times has given you the sorrect information as there is only one thermostat listed for this engine and it should be a 120 degree unit.

Here is the test from the service manual:

THERMOSTAT
Valve Opening Temperature 122? F (50? C)
Full Open Temperature 140? F (60? C)
Valve Lift (Minimum) 0.17 in. (0.43 mm)

Re: Part Number Help Please.

Hi Gerry
Fun Time gave the correct recommended part number from Mercury. I am not looking for the original as its only 122? F (50? C).

I am looking for a 140? F (60? C) replacement. This is to attempt to lower the fuel dilution problem by increasing the operating temp of the engine.

Thanks

Simon motorsports in ramona, ca might be able to help you out from either knowing what other thermostat might be able to work in your engine or possibly he could do a different ECU calibration curve to help with your fuel dilution problems. It'd be worth a call, 760-440-9334.

Good luck.:)
