Re: Part Number?

Quite a costly little part.. Are you sure it's broken ? Try running a positive up to it..
No "Click" and it's faulty.. Sometimes it's the button, not the solonoid.
About $120.00 US..

Re: Part Number?

Well, I've put out a thread before and no one could give me a good answer. The Choke solenoid will engage and dis-engage the plunger, by pushing down the choke button, and by hooking up 12v wire from battery. But, will not allow the motor to start(the motor will turn over). If I dis-connect the choke solenoid(take the gray wire off), The motor will run. As soon as I place the gray wire back on, the motor dies. Now, I thought it might be the choke button, So I sarted the motor, with the gray wire dis-connected, And placed a 12v. jumper wire from the battery. The choke solenoid engaged, but killed the motor. I can manualy choke the motor. It will start that way, but I can not put power to the electric side of the choke. I believe the solenoid is grounding out. Jeremy

Re: Part Number?

Jeremy,

I think I sent you the wiring diagram. If you look at it you'll see that the gray wire should be completely open circuit until the 'choke' button is pushed. This means that it shouldn't have any effect on the engine until then. Have you got a multimeter, if so meter the gray wire (dis-connected from the solenoid) to ground. It should be open circuit. Then, with the battery disconnected, meter to the red wire and the white wire (with the key in the 'ON' position) on the power pack, again it should be open circuit in both cases. Also check the resistance of the choke solenoid. It should be around 10 ohms, any less could indicate that it's drawing too much juice and starving the pack.

Hope this helps,

Chris............
