Bought this boat last week, and it occurred to me that it is missing the arched side window supports:

I asked the previous owner about it, and he said they were in the way and he chopped them off and threw 'em away. :(
Now I am thinking I should have realized it earlier, I like the arched supports, they make the boat look a little sleeker IMO.
I've been scouring CL and eBay, but no success finding salvage parts YET.
So, what do you guys think? Should I live with it? What are my chances of coming across a salvage Larson with these parts? Maybe I could find someone to make a set for me? Get something similar from another brand of boat and make it work?

Now that I noticed it, it bugs me!

Have you been to a boat salvage yard yet? We have a huge one here in Indy that has just about anything you could think of. What kind of person takes the friggin' windows off a boat? lol.

Hey Smoke, just realized your a fellow Hoosier :). The salvage yard is called Indy Boat Salvage (go figure eh lol) It's just south of downtown on Madison Ave. They sell new parts as well. I've picked up a few things from them over the years. Here's the info:

Indy Boat Salvage
3130 Madison Ave
Indianapolis, IN 46227

Oh and those side windows are important for those of us that drive sitting on top of the seats and like to make sharp turns :D And it just dawned on me that my new ride has no side windows....guess no "top o the seat driving" for me now. :)

i did the same thing to my 1998 Aquasport. but i save the glass. it made the boat extremely hot, blocked almost all ventilation. inhibited easy docking.

If you cannot find the exact replacement, most local glass companies carry various forms of aluminum track and lexan, and can probably make up a close match.

I agree...it looks pretty good as it is...been thinking about making a change like that on my 2002 Bayliner Capri Cuddy..1990 vintage...too much glass , too much freeboard to the wind , and the docking.......sounds like it was a clean job if you just now noticed it...you may appreciate it in the end

Hey, hopefully I'm not highjacking, but I've thought about cutting my off. (I won't as I haven't driven this thing yet)

BUT - looking at the boat I'm thinking the only way in or out is over the back seat or front bow seats. That bar on the side looks completely in the way.

Made in China....I'd run that Larson for a bit before you let it bug you too much....to each his own I guess.

You could cut a piece of Card Board for both Sides. Cut out some Windows and cover the Holes with Saran Plastic Wrap. Next tape the Saran Wrap with Grey Duct Tape.

You will be the Coolest boater on the lake.

I think Saran Plastic Wrap comes in several Colors. Really Cool. :D

If you ask me your Boat look Great as it its.

Lots of good suggestions ya'll.

I agree with everyone that no side arch will prob make docking and getting in and out much easier. I think I can live with it now!
