I am in possesion of a 1965 6hp Merc 2 stroke short shaft twin. It runs well at throttle settings above idle, is in good shape and has the original prop, albeit worn down a bit. The skeg is worn as well.
I am planning to sell it, either whole or in pieces. Looking for some feedback if anyone on this forum thinks this motor is worth selling as a whole (if I list it on Ebay to auction, the shipping will be outrageous, if not impossible due to it being a gas engine) or just part it out. That would be easier for me. I don't even know what this thing is worth in running order. Can anyone point me to a website or forum where an outboard of this type and age could be better addresed, or am I already here? I live in Nova Scotia, Canada, for what it's worth. I have, or can take photos of the motor if anyone wants to have a look.
