I'm was trying to get to my stator but accidentally damaged a magnet on the inside of my flywheel, so I know I need a new flywheel assembly. What I don't know is if the stator and trigger are good. I've been having ignition problems and I know it is either the stator or trigger. I'm probably going to replace them both but figured I ask what you think. I took a picture of the trigger/stator. There is some oxidation on the windings on the stator and the cover of the trigger is peeling back from heat. Will this cause failure? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I got it down to either the trigger or stator but I couldn't measure the output cause the engine wouldn't run and I didn't have the tool for the stator so I know it is one of the two. By the time I have someone test it; I could have just bought both.
