Parts question

Hey I am almost done with my engine swap from mercruiser to chevy 350 on my 83 chaperral, i am needing to replace the power steering hose (pressure hose (pump to transom)) and return hose (transom plate to cooler). But am not sure whoe would carry these. Would my local parts (auto zone, advanced auto parts etc..) have these? if so, what so i need to ask for? While im asking, where can you buy bellow replacement for a alpha gen 1 out drive

I would take them to a local marine store and see if they can match them up, also take to your local NAPA and see what they have. You can get your bellows replacement here on I - Boats or your marine store.

Another option would be to go to a Hydraulics store that specializes in making custom hydraulic hoses. We use them alot from work to replace hi pressure hoses.

They're relatively expensive and the one is a high pressure hose that must be appropriately rated. If you don't feel like springing for a new merc one(s) or have an easy place to get them, I agree that it would be a good idea to take the hoses and fitings you have to the local hydraulics shop - I've had great experience with a local shop here building everything you can imagine for my cars, boats and motorcycles.

Hey guys, thanks for the info. I have now gone to two different shops here and i dont know why but they say they are unable to do them. Do you guys know the part #'s for these hoses?

Howdy,


The high pressure line can be easily made at any autoparts place that does Aeroquip hoses/fittings etc. (a LOT of NAPA stores do this)

The return hose is NOT high pressure and just about ANY auto parts store will have the correct hose to work. You won't need high pressure fittings for it either.
