hello i want to thank you all for the help on my 15hp johnson. i bought a 25hp onehp to its a johnson the model #is 25r78c but all the links i went to everone has the 25r78 but none with the c i want to rebuild the car and put a new water impeller on it do any of you know a web site i could go to. thank you

The C only indicates any mid year changes that might have been made (if any). If there was a change in any part, the C would change to something else to signify that. Only important if you were ordering the part that was affected, and if so that would be indicated in the parts book. The letter chosen for the initial run seems to have been picked arbitrarily. Or revisions in the original design blueprints maybe.
