I know I have been more curmudgeonly than usual lately. I am asking for a little extra slack.<br /><br />Why? Well, in the last two weeks. . . .<br /><br />Garage door opener blew up and stuck door half open. $235. 
<br /><br />TV antenna in-coax went bad and blew the booster. $220. <br /><br />My $40/mo broad band wireless suddenly is slower than dial-up. Took 30 seconds to load this forum. They say it is my 'puter. <br /><br />My fish pond is going dry with a 15 year culture of channel cat. The backup pond is dry. <br /><br />I have an anxiety attack at every tower of smoke that shows up on the horizon. <br /><br />My feline companion of 12 years is dying and the vet doesn't know why. $675 (and counting). <br /><br />My children chipped in to get me a super duper metal detector for Christmas. FedEx returned it to Radio Shack (they couldn't find The Hideout) who cancelled the order. Radio Shack didn't bother to tell anyone. <br /><br />I have tied a knot in the end of my rope and am hanging on, but I am not happy about it.
