PCV Question

I am not sure how to hook up my pcv system because both of my valve covers have a pcv outlet and my flame arrest only has one input connector. None on the base of my carb. Do I connect the hoses together with a T or do I block one off. I asked at Napa and they said I could block one off and just run it from one side.

depends on year. used to be a hose from both sides, then they went with a PVC breather in one side and the hose on the other side. however never simply block it off

Ayuh,...... The flame arrester should have 2 hose connectors,.....

I'd fab up another connector for the other side, myself,.....
It don't take much to hold the end of the hose close to the screen,.....

You only use a PCV if the hose goes to manifold vacuum.
If the hose goes where you have it, it should have an dummy fitting in the valve cover.

The path is connected from one side to another you can blow through it and it will come out the other side.

There is no PCV unless your hose is connected to VACUUM. muc is correct. If the hose is connected to an open tube at the flash arrestor it is just venting. You cannot use a PCV valve unless it is connected under the carburetor to vacuum side of intake.

Yes, that's the firing order
Need the SN to look up what the motor came with

Look just above the starter for a plate

Plugging one side did not work as some people stated it would not. Oil leaked out of dipstick. Immediately took it out. 14096244 is the number on engine. I just made a makeshift rout to the other side of the arrestor. I’m pretty sure I just have the wrong flame arrestor.

With oil belching out the dipstick, do a compression test.
My guess is there is major blow by and motor needs a rebuild
