July 1969.. Got off the freedom Bird in San Francisco and was instantly spit on and called a baby killer. Nothing new there. Some things will never change. Same stuff just a different generation.

Need ta send some of those folks over and let them see what real life is all about.

I put this all behind me many years ago just to see an instant replay in 2007..

Two years behind you. Same place with same results in June 71.
Changed planes and again a few hours later in Portland OR.
This is why I didn't watch the so called "peace" march.
Just insane

Re: peace march

Wow, just got a taste of Tim Robbins, and Hanoi Jane, and Susan Surrandon, and Sean Penn at the hate rally. What a group. Lots of demands, no solutions, no answers, no rational, no vision for the future. Sounds just like the 60's. Hate disguised as a peace rally. Sickening.

I loved Hanoi Janes non-response to how she felt about the death of 3 million Cambodians and Vietnameese. I wonder if she feels any responsibility. Having her at a peace rally is like having Nixon or Clinton at a rally for clean government.

I saw little to nothing of it. The few seconds that I did see, I'm sure I saw a picture of one of our local lost servicemen being held high just a few feet from the camera. His brother owns an autobody shop and has his lost brother's picture and a tribute on a small bilboard. I respect his right to protest and always will.

Regarding unfortunate incidents... Unfortunaley there are always a few idiots in every crowd, and those are invariably the ones that make the evening news. Had it been a PRO-war protest, I'm sure there would've been more idiots than any number of news crews could even begin to capture on tape.

How much spitting did you need to see for it to be a successful rally?

If you have any doubt how repulsive these cretins are, just check this out.
Iraq War Protesters Vandalized Capitol, Spat At Iraq War Vet
http://www.kxmb.com/getARticle.asp?ArticleId=90083
Approximately 300 protesters were allowed to take the steps andbegan to spray paint “anarchist symbols” and phrase such as “Ourcapitol building” and “you can?t stop us” around the area, thesource said.
In Washington, counterprotesters also converged on the mall in smaller numbers, but the antiwar demonstration was largely peaceful.

There were a few tense moments, however, including an encounter involving Joshua Sparling, 25, who was on crutches and who said he was a corporal with the 82nd Airborne Division and lost his right leg below the knee in Ramadi, Iraq. Mr. Sparling spoke at a smaller rally held earlier in the day at the United States Navy Memorial, and voiced his support for the administration?s policies in Iraq.

Later, as antiwar protesters passed where he and his group were standing, words were exchanged and one of the antiwar protesters spit at the ground near Mr. Sparling; he spit back.
Way to go Mr. Sparling, Keep up the good fight! MyPirate

Something I found interesting was the formal NOW banners and plaqards being carried at the hate rally. I thought this was an anti-war rally, not a pro murder rally. I would love to see any examples of the NOW gang supporting our troops in any way.

Oh Willy Willy, How can such a good mechanic/technition be so in love with the "it's all relative" reflexive replies that you always seem to use? There are always bad examples that can be cited from the experiences of 6 Billion living imperfect humans on this planet today, and over 4000 years of recorded history to select bad examples from. The Liberal America hating warmed over 60s hippies are a worthless bunch that feel real energized about their buds in the party takin' over the congress that you and other Dems and Libs arranged for 'em 11/2006. They think they can bring us to our knees as they did in their glory days in the mid 70s. I don't know if you have kids, but when my kids were small they would also use the argument "Li'l Johnny did it", that's just carp Willy, did not work with my kids then, and it does not work here now. Respectfully JR
