Engine: 1989 Merc 150 Blackmax

This might sound like a weird question to some of you guys. I've noticed over the entire 5 years that I have owned my mercury that it never seems to have as strong of a water stream coming out the back as some of the other outboards on the lake, whether they be a 6hp johnson kicker or a new 225 optimax. I have a water pressure gauge and have replaced the water pump at a certified mercury mechanic every year. The pressure gauge always reads 12 psi at idle and ranges between 15-25 psi from 3000rpm to WOT. I've never worried about it since I always have more then enough water pressure, but it always bugs me when I look back at my motor and see water coming out of the hole with what seems like no pressure behind it at all, yet the mercury next to me could use its pee stream like a pressure washer. Anyone know what would cause this, especially since I consistently have pressure at or over 12 psi?

Thanks Everyone!
