I have an older 24ft boat with a ford 302 engine and a Penta Outdrive with serial number PZNR 2509839B
I have learned the "B" is for an 8 cyl I am assuming its a penta 250?
need to pull the engine, found out it won't come out without pulling the trans as well? anyway, I ended up pulling the outdrive and found the bellows were torn. the u-joints are all rusted but move freely. the shaft did not come out with the drive. The bolts on the bottom of the trans housing are stripped so i will have to find a way to grind them off to get the motor out....ugggggg anyway, the oil in the outdrive was all white and thick.
is this a 250? I don't see any threads on a volvo pental 250
How much work and money for me to rebuild this outdrive?
My very first boat, and well, cars are one thing, I am learning boats are another....
