I have a 2005 Volvo Penta 5.0 GXI-E that ran great last season. This year when we took her out she runs great at idle and a little throttle, but if we put the throttle down it sputters and you hear like a clicking sound in the engineer compartment. We changed the plugs, wires and cap last season and I changed the gas filter this weekend. It will eventually get up to full speed.

looking for some others options to look at

Check fuel pressure at the rail, it should be 50 - 60 psi from idle to WOT

This is the inside of my Distributor Cap after winter storage each year, make sure you clean it despite it being new last season.

Thanks. I check the distributor cap. I’m not sure what you mean by pressure at the rail? I’m technical but do you mean the fuel pump
