Clever eh? Well, I have not posted here for a while because I have been slowly but surely working on getting the bottom unit off the 6hp Fisherman (1968 6802C) - every now and then I would work on getting the screws out which hold the impeller unit together - today it decided to give up and at last i got the thing apart. Now I have some questions:

1. What do you use to remove corrosion/salt deposits and crud off parts?
2. Where do I get a replacement impeller for this model engine - a link to something would be great.
3. Small pin at top of drive shaft - broke it getting it out - can I replace with something else?
4. in the lower unit there is a short shaft (probably no more than 1 inch long) with a rounded head and groove - should this move up and down? It is not moving.
5. In the process of taking it apart I am sure I turned the shaft, engine and all kinds of things - should it go back together ok or is there a trick to that?

Other than that if I can get the impeller kit I should be able to get it back together - actually the impeller that came out didnt look too bad but going to replace anyway. Need to get new screws and bolts as the ones that came out were badly corroded.

Thank you,

Lee
