My 96 Mariner 60 hp ran fine last fall when I put her away for winter. I ran it out of gas on the last run. Yesterday it fired right up and idled fine. I moved away from the ramp at 1/4 throttle and it sounded good. I opened it up and she went to plane fine for maybe a minute and then shut down. I pulled it out of gear and It restarted ok. The same thing happened several times. I filled up with fresh fuel before I went. I look forward to any input. Thanks to all in advance.

Portable tank with a closed vent? Built-in tank with a plugged vent?

When was the fuel pump diaphragm last changed? When it starts to die, squeeze the primer bulb to see if it picks up.

It wasn't the air vent. Been there, done that. FYI This is my first watercraft and this is my third season. Almost everything I have learned that was important came from this site and the kind members that share what they know. I will check out every suggestion. When I find the culpret to this problem I will post back What the members do here is an honerable thing and I do not take it lightly Thanks again
