Ok, having trouble (even with the new Sticky--thanks by the way) identifying my Merc. Silver placard on the motor says "serial number: 4321034." Didn't correspond with any of the serial numbers in any of the links (at least i don't think so). I thought it was a 1978, but I may be wrong.

Looking to buy some carb rebuild kits and water pump kit and need the # first.

Looks like it is a 1975 but need the size to be sure.

Thanks, I think I got it--it's a 1976 (it was titled and registered as a '78 which threw me off).

A '76 merc 150HP will be an inline six motor with a distributor. A '78 Merc 150HP will be a V6 with ADI (six coils) ignition.
