perko plug

Hi, My boat has a Perko 1059 plug in type base. I need to replace rubber cap that is tethered to base. I got the plug from Perko but how to disassemble base to connect the tethered part? thanks

Hi there, did you buy the base only or did you buy the complete unit?

Part number PER1059 T00-DP or P00-DP

T00= Base and locking collar only
P00= 2 pin pig tail with wire leads and waterproof snap on cover (Complete)

If you bought the complete unit, it may just be easier to replace the whole unit.

Perko sent me the rubber plug with tether only. Somehow i need to remove the upper black collar and insert new tether. It's been cold out so i haven't really invested much time in looking at it. thanks

That was nice of them to send that.

It appears like on the bottom side of the base there are two screws that should come off. By removing the screws, one would think this should allow you to disassemble the base unit.

You can just see the screws in the first and last photos in the ebay link if you zoom in. Hope this helps, let us know if this works out or not and good luck.

Hey thanks for the help. That photo appears to show the trick. It will be spring before i attempt that, boat is buttoned up for the winter. Yes it was nice of Perko to send that, shows they are a quality operation. I will be a repeat buyer.
