Perko Selector Switch

Are the Perko Battery Selector Switches water proof? I received one for Christmas and I'm thinking of mounting it flush with the side wall of my cockpit. Some advised me not to because of water exposure. What are your opinions on where to mount the selector switch? Bill Mc

They are sealed to keep gas vapors out ... as in ‘ignition proof’. Yes, you should be good to go with that Perko. I have a Perko mounted in a similar way on the RIB. Totally exposed to the elements when we take the boat out (diving platform). It was there when we got the boat in ’94, and it’s still there, still working, but a little faded.
