permant fuel tank filler hose with 90 degree bend?

I'm replacing my fuel tank and am in search of a 1 1/2" filler hose that has a 90 degree bend on one end. The old tank's filler stem came out at a approx. 45 degree bend and the USCG rated filler tube was able to flex enough to make it, but it won't flex to a 90. My only other option is to remount the fuel filler cap on the deck directly above the tank but I'd rather not cut a hole in the deck. Any help locating one would be greatly appreciated.
PS- the total lenght of hose would be approx. 30"

could you simply get a piece of exhaust pipe bent to 90 degrees, and attach the straight length of hose to that?

petryshyn has the right idea except exhaust pipe will rust. Talk to a local welding shop (or someone familar with building marine fuel tanks) and they can fabricate one out of aluminum pipe that can be tied into the same grounding wire as the fill cap.

If you can't find anybody let me know and I will post the phone number of the guy here that I use. He can make it and ship it to you.

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice...I beleive I'm going with the flush deck mount directly above the inlet.

hi well what i did was used a 1,1/5 inch copper 90 and used gear clamps to fasten it to the small pieces of hose from the inlet to the tank works great never had a leak and copper won't rust!

Hmmm ,Kenthrussell, interesting idea but I wonder about the pitina buildup(the stuff that turns copper roofs green). It would get in the tank upon fillup.

My suggestion would be to get some 1&1/2 fuel hose (I got mine at a rubber and gasket house for $9) and then whatever bends you need you can accomplish with sch80 pvc fittings with little nubs of pipe sticking out that you can hose clamp on to. One thing to think about is that if you have a sharp bend in there you'll probably only be able to pump into at half speed.

Copper or galvanised pipe fittings should be no problem. After all, they have both had uses in auto fuel lines. Just be sure to isolate them from any other metals.
I would be more concerned with splash-back when attempting to fill up.

If you are thinking about using a copper or PVC 90, check plumbing or HVAC supply houses and try to get a (sweep 90) they have a more gentle bend and might make filling up easier.
