Well the summer is ending and my wife and I had a free pass to one of our local golf courses. I am not a huge fan of golf, kind of expensive for fun IMHO. But I get out a couple of times a year and play some customer golf.

It was a beautiful afternoon and we loaded up and started play. Birdied the first hole. COOL. Things went well for the front nine. Shot my best 9 holes ever. 41

Started the back nine and the fun continued. I was out of my mind. I hit every green. My putting was good enough to only three put once. But as we were playing twilight golf the sun went down and down and down. With two holes left it was almost completely dark. There was no way to see the ball. I finished the back "7" with a 33. The last two holes were par 4's. Assuming I would have bogied both I would have ended the back with a 43. A combined score of 84 beating my best ever score by 5 strokes.

But I didn't get a chance to finish it.

There is no god..... :'(

Had a ball just the same. d:)

Where did ya go Pointer? Was it recently built and along I-94 by anychance......I drive by that one and really want to play it.

Congrats on the personal best score. I golfed more this year than anyother. I had been averaging 42-44 or so a 9 for awhile. Then my putting went down the drain and that ended. I can hit the ball a TON off the tee.......just can't putt to save my life.

A little gem of a course call Praire Woods, on Hwy A between Elkhorn and Janesville. My wife plays league there during the summer months. I wish I was a teacher sometimes.

My problem lies in hitting straight and judging distances. I didn't have that problem Sunday. I have the most beautiful drives for the first 100 yards the remaining yardage is usually consumed by the slice. :%

I usually shoot in the mid to upper 90's, anything under 93 makes my day. This made my year.

I'm with pony and ndemge, I can knock the beejesus out of that ball, but it's down right embarrassing up on the green..... then off the green..... then back up on the green..... I would settle for an 80 on 9

LOL yup......my personal favorite is 5 putting a par 3. I am waiting for the day that I ust break my putter and throw it in the drink.

Pointer you ever play the Bog?

If it maes anyone feel better this year I lost my sand wedge on the coarse somewhere...............sucks because I made all my clubs so I can't just replace it within the set.

Hey custom talking about golf sure is nicer than arguing about stamps eh? 8)

No, but I have heard of it. A buddy of mine wants to play it in the worst way. If memory serves, greens fees there are quite reasonable.

Iboats golf outing? ? ? ?

I'd be in. I have been wanting to golf the Bog for awhile now, but I'd be down to golf about anywhere.

Re: Personal Best

I don't play but once every three years or so because my knees are so bad. When I did play I would shoot in low 80's. If it was hotter than that I stayed home or went fishing. Seriously, I play golf terribly. My nephew, who is a pretty good player, told me that a nice course in Indianapolis has made it even tougher because they put bunkers where the normal players shot lands. I asked him, "They put bunkers in the woods"? The best wood in my bag is my pencil.
