Does anybody have any experience with the Mokai Jet Boat? Looks like a kayak with a small, removable Honda engine powering a jet drive.

Looks like fun for small alpine lakes and slow rivers.

Heres the link:

Mokai Homepage

What do you think.

Thanks

I haven't seen those before, but it looks really cool. Don't know about the plastic hull, but other than that it looks like a high qulality product. The ad says it can be taken in rapids. I wonder what would happen if you flipped it. Can you barrel roll like a regular kayak? No paddle. Would the engine be damaged? Looks neat. :)

Advantages

Removable motor for storage.
Light enough to carry
Class 1 or 2 rapids.
Not being considered lake lice!

I'll stick with my trusty square end canoe and my trusty 3 hp. Evinrude. (tilts up out of the way, been dunked more than once).

I can carry enough gear in that for a week in the "sticks".

Wonder how loud it is? Wonder how much the engine weights?

That's really cool! You could use that in alot of places where you couldn't use a jet ski. Probably sounds like a generator...
