Important notes for those of us that use Photobucket on the "new and improved" forums........ [since the switch we have seen more links instead of photos]

Once your photos are loaded into photbucket there are three types of links below the photo

URL Link

HTML Tag

IMG Code <----------- THIS IS THE ONE YOU WANT.

The IMG Code link is the one that will put your actual photo into the post.

I know there are other photo providers out there and maybe members can add specific instructions about the sites they use to this post.

Hi Bob. What do you do with the IMG code. I still haven't figured it out.

Bob should not attempt posts until the first cup of coffee has fully interacted with his system!!

The IMG code should be copied (I use cut and paste) and pasted into the iboats section. The code begins with
then your photos will appear.

I use the URL copy and paste with no problem. But why waste all that time?
With this new software, its so easy to just take it off your computer!
Just scroll down to "manage attachments"..(below reply box)
click that box full screen..
Click Browse..
find your photo..
click Upload
when photo has up loaded, close window.
DONE...hit submit reply..shows as a thumbnail. Click image to enlarge. Click back button to return.
So simple even a Caveman can do it!

Re: Photo Instructions - HOW TO

well... I guess I'm not as advanced as a caveman. I can not find a "manage attachments" tab or button below the reply box. The only thing is section of the "additional options" box that says "Attach Files" that lists valid extensions, but I see no way to actually attach any file.

That's why I had to post links last week.

Is it possible that different users are seeing different interfaces (?)

Re: Photo Instructions - HOW TO

Ahhhh Ha!! the "manage attachments" button only appears in the "additional options" section if I use MS Internet Explorer..... If I use my default browser, Mozilla Firefox (2.0.0.3), then that button does not exist.

Interesting that the "automatically parse links" checkbox, the notication pull down, and the rate thread pull down all appear in firefox OK.

Moderators, do I win a prize for finding an HTML bug??

I guess moving one step up the evolutionary ladder should be prize enough!

If you simply click on the IMG code in Photobucket, it automatically copies it to the clipboard. Then come back here, hit Paste (or ctrl V) and it is pasted in with
the /IMG metatags already applied. All there is to it!

Gotta watch image size using the advanced 'Manage Attachments' feature described in the post above. It limits JPEG images to 58kb.
BUT as you can see with the Kenimpzoom's picture above (obvioulsy loaded from photobucket), if it's too big and or aligned improperly, it screws the whole web page up.
My borders are all outa whack here because of it. I assume that others are also?

edited for size

Ok, so I get the "manage attachments" tab, browse, find my photo and attach it, it tells me it is too large, by a bunch. It does not get reduced as a thumbnail.

How are people reducing images to thumbnails?

but resize your pictures, to fit the forum, so we don't have to scan left and right to see them, and to read the post.

Re: Photo Instructions - HOW TO

Well, I can figure out how to post pictures... but they show up as a thumbnail. Now, How do I get them to be bigger 'n life like woosterken's? How can I put them into my post, then have text, then put more pic's in my post?

Is a place to host your pictures.
just put dot com after it.
My fishing pictures is another place.
put dot com after that also.
also ImageShack is a good one.
Upload all you want.
just put dot us after it.
It allows you to resize as you upload.
