pic of block mount 160 250 l6 help

this is a pic of the ear thats suppose to be on my block but it is not??? does that mean it's an automotive motor? 1968 160 motor out of a lobster boat it's rebuilt i hate the idea that i might not be able to use it. the cam might not be right, right???

the left side of pic there's two holes for the mercruiser mount that my block doesnt have.

it's rebuilt and was in a lobster boat think the cam was chaned or? i can fabricate a mount bracket but not sure if cam would be ok?

The cam would not make that big of a difference unless it's a reverse rotation engine. Not likely in a single engine application.

thanks for your response DJ, its a normal rotation engine and i'm sure when it was a lobster boat engine it didnt matter much but this is a slickcraft ss 215 3000 lb boat. Everything i've read says non marine cam it would take forever to get up on plane? i guess i could try it see what happenshuh? thanks again.

Ayuh,......... I think you've been told Wrong........

That motor Probably came from a Truck,.....
And,......
A Truck Cam is cut so close to a Marine cut,......
You'll never know the difference...................;)

This is my opinion also ^^^ Just find a way to mount it in your boat, you should be fine.

Thanks Mik and Bond-o appreciate the info. I think i'll go for it for this season anyway, I'm going to look for a 292 this season and put it in next winter. Thanks again safe boating guys.
