Picked up a bigger boat :)

So out of random blind luck I found a 198? Sea Sprite. 18 foot Bow Rider. I/O Chevy powered too bad its a lil 2.5. Boat is in relatively good shape for the year, Engine is a no go (don't know why yet) Guy even let me take the trailer until I find another or have cash to buy his. I'll put up some pics when I get home, She is pretty dirty from sitting and the floor needs some attention but all and all it's in way better shape the my Doral was when I got it. It almost looks just like a Doral, reminds me of a phaser. Maybe I'll have to make it look more like a Doral. From what I've read on the net it ranks right up there with Doral quality wise, went out of business sometime early 2000. Should make for an interesting project.

Sounds like fun. you can always get some Doral decals for it !!!!

Another engine project... will your trolling motor fit that bracket on the transom:facepalm:

It does look like a good winter project... as long as you don't have too many on the go already

Believe it or not (did what was suggested

in the in/out forum) I pulled the foot off today and the engine runs just fine, so the lower end is seized not the engine. Little hard to start prob from sitting but it runs none the less! Now on the hunt for an omc lower end. Other then that we spent most of today polishing and cleaning the boat, came out all right I think. Still have to pull the crappy numbers off the front and the crappy name off the rear.

Kind of bummed out now, The lower end is an OMC Electro shift. From what I hear these are a pain just like the outboard setup. Guess it wasn't a good find after all

Uh Yeah. So I am gonna get rid of this thing. Traded my beloved Nova for a 19 foot Galaxy I/O. She is very pretty. I'll put up some pics after the weekend. Should be a great weekend on the lake!
