For the low low price of $20!

:)

The guy I got it from bought a boat, his local lake only allows electric motors, so he pulled it off, and stuck it in his garage, then sold it after sitting in his garage for 2 years.

He tried to get it started a few weeks ago, buy putting it in a 5 gallon bucket, got it started once for about 2 seconds, then it died, and sat.

I doubt he knew it was a 2-stroke, and with the $20 price tag I didn't want to ask any questions.

think its fine?

No neutral on it? and to go backwards, you turn the entire engine around?

You got a smokin' deal. :D:D
I have a 1970 Evinrude with the weedless prop, but it's quite similar to yours here. I would run it 24:1 mix. These motors don't have any needles bearings. They're basically just a new and improved version of the older JW's but nice little motors.

Started just long enough to suck whatever water and junk was in the gas into the carb, and all the settled-out oil fouled the plugs.

It is probably fine; and I had a Johnson 3hp once- yes, I had to rotate the engine to back up.

Anyway, clean the carb, replace the plugs, get some new no-alky gas, buy good TCW3.

Congrats!
