picked up two freebies! a jw-10 and a jw- 21e

have some questions on the jw-10. are ignition parts, carb kit, and impeller readily available for this one?

Freebies are always good!

All parts easily had. Has the universal ignition, no problems there. Impellers can be had anywhere. The actual carb "kit" can be bought from Outboard motor parts, Mercury, Johnson, Evinrude, new, used, NOS, classic, and vintage for sure, not sure about where else. I usually just replace as needed.

just sent you a pm Chris. any idea what these lower cowl halves and tank came from? these came along with the two motors. kinda look like omc, but more thinking along the lines of viking ??

thats a nice site! the guy i got those motors from had an old viking one cyl, stashed in the corner, saw me eyeballing it, and said " nope", not free or for sale!! lol

well....im looking at trying to make the the jw-10 a reliable runner on the CHEAP, and seeing just how cheap i can do it. working on the carb now. have all the parts in my stash, except the bowl gasket and the boss gasket. those part numbers are non-existant. short of making a gasket, and finding an o-ring for the boss gasket, is there any other options that dont involve having parts shipped? and is hoping the needle and seat can be reused a pipe dream?

will a modern plastic float (# 0396514) work with the jw 10 carb? i have it in the carb, but it seems a bit hard to blow into it with the float hanging?
