I will be picking my boat up this weekend from a Mercruiser authorized dealer that is performing a leaky rear main seal that is covered by warranty. I have to drive about 2 hours to go pick her up and I don't want to have to make the trip again. Also, the dealer is only a few minutes away from a lake...I will be taking her out on a test ride before I come back home. So, what should I look for to make sure that the job was done right? What should I ask them? I am also a newbie and I don't know a whole lot about engine repair but I do know some basics.

The boat is a 185 Sea Ray BR Sport and the engine is a 2008 4.3L V6 with Turn Key Start.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

i would make sure my bildge was real clean maybe take it to the car wash and remove any oil / scum before i took it for a test run ..after your test run look good to see if you have any oil leaks

Good advice,
Also check for any other leaks around the engine. Give it a test run and make sure all the gauges and systems are working properly.Listen for any new noises and just give it a good going over.
