Hi Safari.<br /><br />Yes that's exactly what we did. The tabs were still in real good shape believe it or not, so we went with them. They may or may not be glassed a little, its very strong as it is. We used 1/2 Plywood in the stringer tabs, then 2x4 and 2x6 sides to the stringers so to speak, to allow for more area to attach the deck, as well as help spread out pressure. The outside stringers had 3/4 in in them, so we thinned another 1/2 inch and doubled up the outsides. I usually fish in pretty rough water, so I favored the side of strength over maybe a little speed. But like I said, I don't think I will. I did ok before, and I think we pulled out about 300lbs of crap, and am putting in about 100 lbs with much more strength.<br /><br />I was amazed at how the boat up on the blocks, off the trailer, once all the water and dryrotted wood was out. Amazing, the deep V wasn't was deep! Looked normal.
