moving toward the ignition portion of my rebuild...'84 J-115. When I took it apart I didnt notice this: I have one coil Different that the other 3!
And the oddball was in the same position that had a bad Cyl...This may/may not be a culprit-but weird. I acquired the motor.
I have 3 pn 582107 and 1 pn 582508. The 3 appear correct for this motor, and have the built in "secondary" wire, while the oddball has a removeable wire on the non-plug secondary terminal.
Can this have run like this? I will put it back to all original? but the oddball definitely has a different resistance check compared to the originals.
Secondary question: When i get new coils, do I have to put the leads into the rubber boot connector? Right now, each side is all connected together.
