If you go to the home page for smart trim tabs it gives you all the install manuals plus you can print out the templates for the 25 degrees and the hinge template installation. Plus all the information on all else involed with all the tabs he has and parts great site. Now get out there and use those things and let us know what you think................

Re: Pics of Smarttabs install and a question

Ok, does anyone have these on a 180 Freedom (older model 1992)?

I want to order these right now, but the boat is in the shop. I am really concerned as to where the tiedowns are (see attachments). Seems like there may or may not be enough room to "squeeze" them in?

I don't weld so I really hope I don't have to move the trailer locations, but even then they just seem to be in the perfect position to give me troube!

You guys have really sold me on them and I want to get rid of the Stringray.

Dang I need to get the boat back to check it out!

you can move the tiedown points without welding. i just drilled holes and installed 1/2" eyelets for the straps where I needed them to be.

You need to determine if they are a benefit to you. What do you want to accomplish?

I don't think your transom would be anymore of a problem than mine was on my 04 SeaRay, I will say you probably need to call Nauticus or maybe jdeargo will pick up your post and answer here. You can click the link in my signature and see the mounting on mine. You may need to use the Stainless Steel ones so you can move the tab bracket back to the rear holes to help with mounting. Mine are mounted with out the bracket being moved, I sometimes wonder if it would make a difference on mine or not. I am very happy with the results on my boat, all the things advertised happen, there have been no negatives at all with the tabs.

I can say that raising and lowering the bow is no problem at all with Smart Tabs, you can easily adjust that with the outdrive or motor trim. I have not been out in the ocean but I do run in the sound and the ICW and have no problems with handling the water.
