Pics to Big

How many of you are tired of going to a good thread only to find out that Pictures have been posted that make you scroll right to read text ?? There are several threads on how to post a proper pic . QC brought this up as a joke but it is a problem

See rule #12. Those oversize pix should be deleted and replaced by correctly sized pix.

Don't complain about it, REPORT it.

I can say I fall in to this, but deleting the link on the thread and copying the new resized img code from photobucket hasn't worked. I don't know what to do.

I guess the mods can delete my threads and I can start all over.

There is no "post new thread" icon within a thread. You need to look at the forum page for it. Upper port side.

You just need a bigger monitor, throw that 12 inch CRT thing in the trash

Not sure what the big deal is with sizing pictures properly. Just download the Microsoft PowerToy and its a right click and you are done.

If I am understanding you correctly, you cannot go back into photobucket and declare 640 x 480 and have it retro size your existing pictures. You have to delete them from photobucket and re-add then after you have made the declaration.

Before you do all that, you should edit your post and delete the picture link, then delete the original uploaded picture in photobucket, declare your new posted size limit in 'more options' under the upload button.

After that, all new pictures uploaded in photobucket will be of the size you declared when you post them.

I hate when pics are wayyyy too small.

yep ditto on this. pic size wasnt a problem last summer but sometime over the winter someone decided that it really mattered. I dont post alot of pics anymore because i dont want to resize everything in photobucket just to post on here.

Basically, no im not tired of scrolling left to right. i like big pics and dont mind it. plus the laptop is widescreen anyways

Man I don't feel bad now because I can't get it to work at all worked on it for over 2 hrs sunday to post on a thread about head gadsket replacement that I was wanting to contribute info on with my own rig''s replacement of and it just really seems as if the intructions need to be printed out and read them step by step while your doing it or it's just to much nonsence to just post pic's in your thread why is it easier in face book than in the best boat web site on the planet??????????????????????

On this message board if you post a picture that's too big, it auto resizes it.

I too hardly post pictures because it's annoying to have to resize every one of them.

No problem with sizing pictures. Once I down load I put the pictures that I want on Iboats on my desk top bring up the picture, click on image, resize and put on Iboats blog. Shows as thumbnail, click once shows nice picture, click twice shows whole screen.

Windows paint is quick and easy too. Just use paint to open pic,
click image then click attributes to resize.

Or they upgrade the board to add a simple feature and nobody would have to resize anything

There are vBulletin hacks or modifications available that do this automatically, all the administrators have to do is implement. Something like that would be a solution.
