Picture of Crankcase dipstick hole

Since I got back my engine from the rebuilder I have had a slight oil leak and I thought is was the oil drain line. I didn't pay much attention to it until yesterday when around 2 litres of oil was dumped in my bildge. I hunted the whole day today until I found the culprit. The dipstick cylinder moves freely and it is not secure inside that brass hole. How do I fix this?<br />

Why not clean both surfaces well with carb cleaner and JB weld it. Don't use the JB "quick", it's temp range is too low for this.<br />Nick<br />PS Be sure to utilize the bracket that supports the stick housing/tube.

I would use some type of silicone sealant...And the support bracket....JK

toss the silly cone in the crick. it will leak again. I use a sealer such as 3m super weather strip or in extreme cases like yours looks like I use the JB weld method. and do make sure the dip sick to block bracket is used.<br /> looks like someone gnawed it off last time <br />and looking at the water tracks on the starter housing inspect closly for water leaks, unless its soap from a washdown.

thanks for the info with the JB weld.i did wash the engine down befor it was covered with oil .but ill still check for water leaks.thanks
