Here are 4 pictures of the 88 VRO 70 I am having trouble with bogging under load at anything above idle and up to WOT.
And with the pictures I would like to ask a question or two. The cam plate on the Starboard side has a line on it. Should this line touch the roller on the carb linkage when at idle?
Also I have read the FAC on timing your OMC engine, I understand setting the timing at 4 degrees less than the timing indicated on the air cleaner cover which in my case is 19 degrees or as instructed it should be set at 15 degrees with the timing advance plate held hard up against the rubber stop at full throttle.
My question is without the engine running and the spark plugs out and with the inductive timing light on the #1 cylinder plug wire, what exactly do you move to change the timing? I have ordered a service manual, but would like to check a few things and set them before it arrives. I will also be purchasing a compression guage and checking out the compression on all three cylinders.
Hopefully I have gotten posting the pictures right!
Thanks for any and all help offered
Marty
