The wood planks look like what I built my rear house steps out of to prevent wear??? Are those fairly heavy??? good to keep the bow down a bit if they are and strong.

No the planks aren't very heavy. They are actually relatively light. Not sure on what type of wood it is as it was pretty much destroyed before I started working on it. It might even be teak for all I know.
