I just rebuilt the carbs on 98 Yamaha 115.
How do I adjust the pilot screws ? Is it 1/2 turn after they're seated? That seemed about right amount when I checked them before dissambly, but want to make sure. The service
manual doesn't give a clear answer. Thanks

hello
are you sure you have the manual? its 5/8ths of a turn from seated. take care not to seat them to hard. the yammi pilot air screw does not adjust air to fuel but rather how much of the fuel/air mix to pass.
good luck and keep posting

I have a 94 P150 TLRS and I think I did something like 1 turn port and 1 1/2 starboard, but before i tore them down I tightened the screws all the way down, and counted the turns it took then when I reassembled them Iknew how much to back them off. BUt it should also be in the manual.

Ok guy's explain 5/8's of a turn to me. If I turn a screw with a slot in the head say the slot is north/south or 12 o'clock 6 o'clock. When I turn the screw from 12 to 6 and stop is that considered a half turn 4/8's or is that considered 1 turn 8/8's.

yep, 12 to 6 o'clock is a half-turn (4/8'ths).
12 o'clock to 3 o'clock (counterclockwise) is
3/4 or 6/8ths.

Also in the manual it gives you a range. You can set at 5/8 ths but maybe adjust to 1 1/8 depending on the engine. Some people never touch them once adjusted to maybe 7/8ths. It depends on how the engine idles., rich , lean or fine
