My 1996 225 Ocean Pro has a minute, pin tip leak in the engine block in a seam on the top of the engine, near the voltage regulator/rectifier. This annoying leak allows cooling water to collect on the top of the engine and has interfered with the electronics located there. This leak is under the Powerpack. We have applied JB weld but the water still finds its way out. Especially at the water pressures experienced at WOT. We are not welders and do not trust anyone else in that regard. Any recommendations for products or methods will be appreciated.

Thank you,

David K.

Welcome to iboats.

I assume it's a flaw in the casting? Pinpoint it, drill it out and tap it with a 1/8" pipe tap, then screw in a 1/8 pipe plug. Make sure you're not going to drill into any sensitive areas that might make a worse problem, first. If you want to go smaller than the pipe plug idea, use a 10-24 screw tap and put a gasket under the head of the screw, or thread sealer or loctite on a setscrew.
