Pinging

New to boating,bought a 1999 larson with a 5.0 ltr volvo penta which was running fine.Received a 4 blade prop with it and wanted to see the difference but when we go 3/4 throtle it seems to ping from the engine.Would the prop cause this of should i be running a higher grade fuel? It didnt do this with the 3 blade prop.I will switch it back and try it tonight to make sure.

if you are running higher RPMs it could be you are to advanced, check your timing?

Ayuh,... It's stamped on the props somewhere,... Along the side,..?? Under the Nut,..??

The 4 blade which had the ping is a 18,the three blade is an 19.

Weathers been rotten since yesterday so I havent tried the three blade yet

Ayuh,... It Ain't the prop,... It's the Motor....

At the very Least,... Change the Fuel Filters....
Better Yet,...
Have the entire driveline Tuned Up,+ given a Full Service....
