Seeing how my boat is broken right now and the fish are running now we decided to try shore fishing.

We all go down to a bit of a hidden beach we know about. Boats all over out in the ocean passing us buy. It seemed like no one was catching anything. Just as we were going to get going "slack tide was just finishing up" my daughter gets one. Here she is a pink light trout rod and a 25 pound spring ripping her line off. She called for my help so I ran over and coached her. Din,t grab the rod but told her to let it run and play it and keep the tip up. There was no way she was just going to just crank it in. After about 20 minuets she landed it. Of coarse we gave a lot of hooting and hollering just to make sure every one herd us.:D

Dinner was great nothing like fresh fish. :p

My wife holds her rod in her hand all day when I shore fish with her. I'll never outfish her because I'm always slapping a bell on my pole and off talking with a beer in my hand :D

I've been outfished by a 5 year old girl and her Barbie Doll pole several times. It maybe embarassing for me, but the joy it brought to that little girl was priceless. Why doesn't Ken have a pole,,,,,,,,,,,fishing pole that is :D

Re: Pink rod,s do work.

Congrats to your daughter on her NICE catch! And kudos to you for not taking the rod from her!

My 9 year old, soon to be 10 and her mother were walking by the wallyworld sporting goods section and she saw all the pink, and Barbie, and Scooby-Doo rods. She looked at her mother and said, "Really? Really? You wouldn't catch me using one of those rods!" Needless to say, we had a good laugh at her "grown-upness."

We had a ball with rockbass on Saturday ... only had an hour and we found a honey hole ... we were catching a hand-sized or bigger rockbass EVERY cast ... pulling them in about every 30 seconds! We caught about 40 in 30 minutes and they were still hitting when we had to leave! Took longer to clean them than to catch them, but the little filets made a GREAT meal!

We took one on her I phone. I left my camera behind this time. I should clarify my daughter is 29 but will always be my little girl.:) Dam the rod even has little lights that light up when you reel the line in.
