I use brown sugar in my coffee, what's not benificial in using a natural food product such as sugar? personally, i just cannot come to terms with all of the different artificial food substitutes on the market, not withstanding their claims to cure whatever ails.
What's up with the FDA? is it just me? does anyone else think that we have the foxes in charge of the hen house?

drank with cream sugar for the logest time...

then went with south beach, learned how sugars/processed carbs affect blood sugar ...

So I bought slenda to put in coffee....

So incredibly nasty tasting I went back to drinking it black and love coffee even more now because I can actually taste it.

Yup, so much crud in the food nowdays that I'm wondering if we are still human.

I avoid hydrogenated fats, processed meats, and nutrasweet as a rule. Also try to avoid high fructose corn syrup sweetener. The gov't did that one to us also, back in 1979-80 with the sugar price support program.

can't give up everything, part of the enjoyment of life is eating good tasting food, I don't drink coffee (no pink or blue stuff, seen it at restruant tables), but I love the smell, I gave up sugar pop, and some how went to diet (now I drink too much diet pop), so what is splenda? Probably bad for ya.

Been trying to cut carbs, dang hard, I love breads.

Trying to stay away from trans fats (whatever they are) but have seen labels on food stating " no trans fats"

I think the key is eat what you like but cut down on portion size.

Spud

Coffee... Black only thankyouverymuch!

You forgot the "Yellow Packets"

"Splenda" is a sugar derivitive. Expensive though. Given time, I'm sure they'll find something wrong with that too.

Coffee black (%99 of the time)
pink stuff in my iced tea
sugar in everything else

no health problems ever and fit as a fiddle .. eat what I want to as a rule.

-I salt salt pork
-I eat the belly fat from mature Salmonoids out of the Great Lakes.
-I Drink whole milk - only on occasion 2%.
-I eat 'cannibal sandwiches' one in each hand with a few bottles of regular Leinies beer between sandwiches.
-I won't eat anything with the words "LIGHT" or LOW sodium/fat/blah blah blah..
-I use REAL butter.. LOTS OF IT!

If I was to be conscious of intake .. I'd be one of those "naturalist" tree huggers shopping in those few isles of the grocery store that smell like old shoe leather and sheep manure mulch.

"I want to die like my grandfather did! peaceful and content with life .. unlike the passengers in the car he was driving."

Coffee w/sugar and half & half. Home made whipped cream, eggs fried in bacon grease and real butter. vegetables, lots of garlic, and not much fast or processed food. I believe in "not too much of any one thing."

Pink in the coffee, sugar on everything else.
I pretty much eat what I want.
Overweight some, but who cares, I feel pretty good and can do what I want, so I live life like it's the last day, you know what I mean?

I quite agree that we're turning into a nation of mutants, I own and operate a menswear store,i am astonished by the number of 12 to 15 year old kids that are wearing size 46 and 48 suits, yesterday i had a mother trying to find a size 15 dress shoes for her 15 yr old son.
Would the answer be to put more emphasis on the quality of foods that are made available to the general public?
It's crazy! Mc Donalds being sued for making people fat  folks not being responsible for the types of food which they eat
How about the lack of excercise?
Where the hell all of those excercise contraptions that are sold through the numerous infomercials that we are bombarded with go?
Are we really this apathetic nation that we're so often accused by rest of the world of being?
Jeez!! it must be a million questions going through my head.
Just what's going on?

Splenda in the coffee.

Honey in the tea.

I am one of those very fortunate folks who doesn't like refined sucrose (white sugar), even though I do like the Splenda in my coffee.

As far as avoiding foods goes, anything with olestra in it gives me gastric distress, so I don't eat those, no matter how good they taste. That includes a lot of "fat free" products.

Take a Centrum Silver daily and eat what I want to eat.

Cardiologist scolds me, but I would rather enjoy a shortened life than live a longer one in misery.

Re: pink stuff, blue stuff or sugar?

I use the pure cane sugar "sugar in the raw" stuff and love it. No coffee, don't really like it and tea has more caffine anyway for my morning jump-start. Sugar and/or honey in that.

As far as foods, I eat whatever I want but avoid anything that says "fat free", "diet" or less this or healthy that.

If the current trend says it's bad for you now, just wait a few months and they'll say it's good for you.

My wife has me hooked on Splenda when I drink a cup of coffee on the weekends. I like it as much as sugar. I don't drink coffee during the week.

I like sugar in my sweet tea.

Re: pink stuff, blue stuff or sugar?

It's pink or straight black coffee for me. For some odd reason splenda knocks the crap right out of my system....kinda related to exlax!

When I am in the mood to spoil myself I do favor maple syrup in my coffee. Only the real stuff not the store brand.

As for the pink stuff causing cancer in California yes thats true along with lead weighted spinner baits (carry the same type warning just for California).

Bob
