Hi There. I got one of these units for fathers day last year. All in all I think it is a pretty good finder for the money. The suction cup lets go at speed so you have to try to remember to bring it in before moving fast. The battery lasts a very long time without needing a charge. This spring I plugged in the transducer and all I could get was the 600 foot screen. I got my buddy to bring his along next trip and we determined my transducer was the problem. It was 4 weeks past the year guarantee. The shop I bought it from closed down but an x employee told me to contact Humminbird customer service. I was very skeptical but I did try and they were stellar. They sent me a new transducer and were great to deal with. They even threw in a permanent break away mount @ no charge. In the mean time I bought a used Humminbird 595c but my plan is to use the 160 up at the bow for anyone who is using the bow seat. I had two boats and now I just have one so I am putting a permanent mount on my boat for the 160 but I am not mounting the unit cause I still like the bag idea. Best of luck. Rick.
