2.5L 200 EFI, less than 20 hrs on engine since rebuild, WSM Pistons. #1 piston failure. Looks like bottom ring spun on piston allowing ring to hang on exhaust port, good-bye top of piston. The ring pin looks broken or pushed into piston. Either way, it allowed for failure.
Is this a problem with WSM Pistons or is this common. Will WSM warranty the failed part?
I'm getting tired of tearing down the same engine; gaskets, rod bolts, and rings are not given away.
